Citizen Concerned About County Finances

 Reading about the problems at the Auditor's office and the finger pointing going on between the Council and the Auditor, I am concerned about the continued problems with delayed budgets, late filings with the state and what the state will do with or to our county.
So I have some questions that I would like to see public answers provided:
1) Were there errors or ommissions in the budget for 2006. And, if so, what were they and would they cause the state to deny the budget?
2) Did the Auditor inform the Council of any ommissions or errors in the budget? And, if so, when?
3) Are Knox County's finances in jeopardy of being taken over by the state?
4) Is there any way to recall a council member, commisioner, auditor or other elected county official other than general election? If not, is there any way to change this so that they can be recalled? |
